October Events

October 10th, Friday (7 PM) Free Concert Fundraiser Concert for Bandon Food Bank.
Episcopal Church, 795 Franklin Ave NW - Bandon, Oregon 97411. Bring food donations for the food bank.
There will be coffee and snacks provided after concert.

October 11th, Saturday (2:00 - 2:50) Octoberfish Festival for Charleston Food Bank at the OLD Charleston School. ADMISSION IS ONE CAN OF FOOD.

November Events

November 14th (6:30 PM) Bandon Library - Fundraiser for the Friendship village Vietnam, variety show style.

Vietnam Friendship Village is a residential treatment center for children and veterans affected by Agent Orange, located on 27,000 square meters of former rice paddy in Van Canh commune, Hoai Duc hamlet, Ha Tay Province, about 16 km. from downtown Hanoi. There are approximately 120 children, 30 war veterans and 43 staff members living and working there at any one time. The children, who suffer from a range of physical and intellectual disabilities, come from 34 provinces (from Quang Nam - Da Nang province to the top of nothern Vietnam). At the village, they are provided with health care and basic education. They also produce handicrafts that are sold for fundraising purposes.

John Gretzinger and Janet & Ken Bates will play, and Don will read some of his poetry about the Village. A video is planned. There is more good stuff in the works and we will keep you informed as it comes together. Put it on your calendar to spend a few hours socializing with Veterans For Peace and the progressive community. It will be fun!

KIDSPORT Benefit Concert, "SO ALL KIDS CAN PLAY"!

Tickets: Adults $18 - Youth and Seniors $13 - Tickets available at Caribou Memorial Complex.

All proceeds go to Williams Lake "Kidsports" Organization.
